The Opportunity


The Green Recruitment Company are pleased to be working with a leading UK Sustainability and Zero Carbon Consultancy working within the Built Environment. Our client are looking to appoint a Senior Sustainability Consultant to deliver a range of diverse and interesting schemes for clients including schools, residential, developers, hospitals, retail outlets and leisure centres, with a focus on sustainability strategy, design, and construction. Working with our clients and in-house multi-disciplinary teams, you will be responsible for providing specialist sustainability consultancy services. You will support the team with technical delivery, alongside communicating and guiding clients in the embodied carbon, operational carbon and Net Zero carbon design.

This role will suit a forward-thinking consultant who is trying to make sustainability an integral part of the design, construction, and operation of buildings.

Responsibilities:

  • Working as the Sustainability Lead for large projects

  • Day-to-day management of people delivering projects across London and the UK

  • Providing development support for the Sustainability and Energy team

  • Providing technical support for all Sustainability outputs, including but not limited to Life Cycle Analysis, Soft Landings, BREEAM, etc.

  • Nurturing existing client relationships

  • Supporting junior Sustainability Consultants and their career progression

  • Visiting the London office 2-3 days per week on a flexible working basis

Desired Experience and Skills:

  • Degree(s) in related disciplines (or equivalent).

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience in managing people

  • Be up to date with current sustainability and energy legislation

  • Lead assessor experience within energy or environment is desirable

  • Working knowledge of Lifecycle Analysis would be beneficial however not essential

  • Ambition to continue to develop the role of the Sustainability consultancy in design, construction and operation

  • Strong interpersonal skills
