Primary Responsibilities:
Business Development:
Bring original and creative ideas to new propositions to drive innovation and encourage clients to adopt energy transition solutions
Drive business development by generating leads, responding to competitive tenders, and writing bids and proposals
Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders and clients in the low carbon energy sector
Represent the Firm at client meetings, conferences, workshops, and trade shows
Delivery:
Devise and execute creative projects that address energy transition challenges, such as coal-to-clean conversion, energy system flexibility, hydrogen, and energy storage
Manage and oversee client projects of varying complexity from inception to completion, including problem-solving, analysis, research, and quality assurance
Manage project teams, including sub-contractors and communicate with clients on day-to-day project matters
Manage project budgets and finance
Strategy and Team Management:
Support the Asia team in overall strategic planning for the Firm’s offerings and activities in the energy transition space
Supervise at least two junior colleagues
Knowledge Management and Learning:
Lead the development and operation of the energy transition knowledge management plan for the Asia teams
Monitor the development of low carbon energy policy, technologies, and market trends to understand market potential and develop new capabilities
Stay informed of relevant topics, including energy transition, energy flexibility, hydrogen, renewable energy, smart grid, and energy storage
Keep up-to-date with new propositions and initiatives across the Firm, and ensure that the office's knowledge management systems are efficient
Key Skills and Competencies:
Desirable knowledge of energy transition includes fossil fuel phase-out, renewable energy grid integration, heat decarbonisation, hydrogen, and associated business models
Proven ability to develop successful bids in the low carbon energy sector across a range of private and/or public sector clients
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build client and partner relationships and influence stakeholders
Proven ability to manage small teams and deliver high-quality consulting projects in the low carbon energy sector
Excellent strategic problem-solving skills and solution development
Excellent project management and delivery skills
Excellent communication skills (written and oral), with the ability to lead and run workshop sessions, present to audiences, and write high-quality reports
Ability to work effectively in a complex team environment, take the initiative and deliver projects independently when required
Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
Organized and efficient
Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
Qualifications and Experience:
Preferably a master's degree in a relevant field
Considerable experience leading strategic consulting projects in the low carbon energy sector
Experience in business development, including proactive and responding to formal tender processes in the low carbon energy sector
Experience in building and managing client relationships
Experience of developing and winning new business
Experience/knowledge of energy policy, technology, and finance
Experience in designing or delivering innovation projects and programs.
