Director of Capital Development & Sustainability
Job description
Seeking a strategic and relationship-focused leader to oversee capital development and sustainability initiatives across a growing investment platform. This position blends investor relations, fundraising, and ESG leadership to support long-term growth and responsible investment practices.
Key Responsibilities
Capital Development & Investor Relations
Lead capital-raising and investor relationship management across Private Equity strategies and listed investment vehicles.
Develop and deliver fundraising strategies, product positioning, and investor communications for a range of fund structures.
Drive capital development efforts across multiple regions in collaboration with investment and product teams.
Represent the organisation at investor meetings, roadshows, and industry events.
Build tailored engagement plans for investors and contribute to long-term growth objectives.
Sustainability & ESG Leadership
Act as a key advocate for the firm’s sustainability agenda, embedding ESG principles into investor communications.
Develop and implement ESG policies and reporting frameworks (e.g., TCFD, SFDR).
Ensure compliance with regulatory sustainability requirements and disclosure standards.
Product & Reporting
Collaborate with legal and product teams on fund documentation and structuring.
Oversee quarterly and annual investor reporting, ensuring transparency and alignment with ESG expectations.
Strategic Initiatives
Identify cross-selling opportunities across the wider platform.
Monitor market trends, investor sentiment, and competitive dynamics to shape strategic direction.
Support the adoption of digital tools and CRM systems for investor engagement and ESG data management.
Leadership & Team Development
Manage and mentor both capital development and ESG team members.
Foster a high-performance culture and support long-term team development.
Ideal Candidate
Demonstrated fundraising success within Private Equity and listed fund environments.
Confident engaging senior stakeholders and communicating investment strategies.
Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or broader energy transition sectors.
Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks and integrating ESG metrics into fundraising and reporting.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop clear, compelling investor materials.
Strategic thinker with strong commercial awareness and collaborative working style.
Solid academic background; advanced qualifications (e.g., MBA) beneficial.
Familiarity with closed-ended and listed fund structures, as well as capital formation processes.
Experience working with global investors across multiple jurisdictions.
Data-driven approach with the ability to use analytics for segmentation and ESG measurements.
Additional European language skills advantageous.
