Job description
We are seeking an experienced EPC Utility Scale Solar Estimator to join our team and contribute to the growth of renewable energy projects across the U.S. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating self perform bids, working with internal teams to deliver accurate and competitive project bids.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for utility-scale solar projects, encompassing all aspects including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
Review project plans, specifications, and contracts to determine scope and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Collaborate with engineering teams to identify value engineering opportunities and optimize project costs.
Develop and maintain estimating databases to ensure accuracy and competitiveness of bids.
Assist project managers in risk assessment, identifying potential cost variances, and recommending mitigation strategies.
Participate in pre-bid site visits and client meetings to gather essential information for estimates.
Prepare and present detailed bid proposals to clients, highlighting project value and competitive advantages.
Stay updated on regulatory changes, industry trends, and emerging technologies in the solar energy sector.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in estimating for utility-scale solar projects or within an EPC/Self Perform environment.
Proficiency in estimating software and tools (e.g., Accubid, Heavybid).
Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with diverse teams.
In-depth understanding of solar technologies, project lifecycle, and permitting processes in the US renewable market.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Estimator, PMP) are advantageous.
Familiarity with renewable energy policies, incentives, and financing models in the U.S.
Experience with financial modeling and budget management for large projects.
