Job description
An established independent power producer with a strong focus on onshore wind is expanding its project team in Berlin. Active for over five years, the company is backed by two major energy companies in Germany. With a tight-knit team, the business develops, finances, builds and operates its own renewable energy assets across Germany.
The current portfolio includes a pipeline of onshore wind projects with a total capacity of 300+ MW. Projects are at various stages, from early permitting through to construction and operation. One flagship project with 15+ wind turbines is now entering the construction phase, creating the need for an experienced Senior Project Manager.
The Role
As Senior Project Manager, you will take end-to-end responsibility for large onshore wind projects, from development through to commercial operation. This is not a pure construction or pure development role. You will oversee the full project lifecycle and coordinate a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
You will work closely with partners covering grid connection, engineering, turnkey construction and financing, while remaining fully accountable for timelines, budgets and project delivery. The role reports directly to the Managing Director and does not include line management responsibilities.
This position offers significant exposure and breadth, ideal for someone coming from a larger organisation who is looking for wider ownership and decision-making responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
Overall project management from development, permitting and financing through construction to operation
Coordination of internal stakeholders and external partners, including partner departments, authorities, consultants and contractors
Ownership of project schedules, milestones and budgets
Steering financing processes and supporting financial close
Ensuring projects transition smoothly into the operational phase
Managing risks, approvals and interfaces across all project phases
Your Profile
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in onshore wind project management
Proven experience across both development and construction phases
Strong understanding of permitting, engineering, financing and project execution
Comfortable managing complex stakeholder environments
Structured, hands-on and confident in leading topics independently
German language skills at a C1 level are sufficient
Location & Working Model
Preferred location: Berlin or close to Berlin
Regular office presence is important due to the small team setup
Typically, weekly office attendance and flexibility are considered on a case-by-case basis
