Senior Project Manager - Battery Storage UK
Job description
TGRC are working with a leading renewable energy developer in search for a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery phase of a large-scale battery energy storage project. This role will be responsible for driving the project through construction and commissioning, ensuring a smooth handover to operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the full delivery lifecycle of a grid-scale energy storage project, ensuring adherence to timeline, budget, and quality standards.
Oversee health, safety, and environmental compliance in line with UK regulations, including CDM requirements.
Implement and monitor project-specific HSE management systems and reporting.
Manage project risks and opportunities, developing mitigation strategies to ensure project objectives are achieved.
Maintain clear communication and alignment with all internal teams and external stakeholders, including authorities, suppliers, technical advisors, contractors, and consultants.
Coordinate connection works with distribution network operators.
Support reporting to senior management and project steering committees.
Identify cost-saving opportunities in pre-construction and delivery phases without compromising scope or quality.
Ensure a structured handover to operations and efficient project close-out.
Essential Requirements:
Demonstrated experience managing large-scale renewable energy construction projects, ideally including energy storage or similar infrastructure.
Strong knowledge of HSE standards and CDM regulations.
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and multiple stakeholders.
Proven ability to lead projects using a risk-based, systematic management approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
Experience working client-side within utilities or developers.
Project management accreditation (e.g., PMI-PMP, APM).
Previous energy storage project experience highly advantageous.
