Investment Associate

​Our client is a fast-growing Renewable IPP who is focused on expanding their portfolio of projects across Solar, Wind and Battery Storage.

Role Overview

The Investment Associate will support the investment team in evaluating, executing, and monitoring renewable energy and distributed energy opportunities across the UK and Europe. The role offers exposure to both debt and equity transactions, as well as operational portfolio oversight, providing a broad perspective on fund deployment and capital structuring.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the investment team in sourcing, evaluating, and executing renewable energy and distributed energy transactions.

  • Build detailed financial models for project valuation, debt/equity structuring, and investment returns.

  • Conduct due diligence across financial, legal, technical, and operational aspects of potential investments.

  • Prepare investment papers, presentations, and materials for internal approval committees and external stakeholders.

  • Assist in monitoring portfolio performance and reporting on key metrics to senior management.

  • Support fundraising activities and capital allocation decisions, liaising with investors and financing partners.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including asset management, commercial, and technical teams.

Requirements
  • 3–5 years of experience in investment, project finance, or corporate finance within energy, infrastructure, or renewable sectors.

  • Demonstrated experience in debt and equity financing, including raising or structuring capital for projects or portfolios.

  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, and analytical skills.

  • Understanding of project finance, renewable energy economics, and capital markets.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with senior management and external stakeholders.

  • Professional qualifications such as CFA, ACA, or similar are advantageous.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
