Job description
Our client seeking an accomplished and skilled Manager for their Electrical and Instrumentation Department. As a pivotal figure within their engineering department, you will play a crucial role in designing, evaluating, and overseeing the implementation of electrical systems across various industrial projects.
Responsibilities:
Supervising and directing a team comprising engineers, technicians, and support personnel within the E&I department. This involves assigning tasks, offering guidance, and ensuring the team is equipped with necessary resources for efficient job performance.
Developing and overseeing departmental budgets, tracking expenditures, and identifying opportunities for cost reduction.
Leading the design of electrical systems, focusing on power distribution, generation, and protective measures.
Conducting in-depth electrical engineering calculations and analyses, including load flow studies, short circuit analyses, and arc flash studies.
Providing technical expertise and guidance to project teams throughout project execution.
Collaborating with clients, architects, and stakeholders to grasp project requirements and objectives.
Ensuring adherence to applicable industry standards, codes, and regulations.
Performing site visits and inspections to evaluate existing electrical systems and pinpoint areas for enhancement.
Reviewing and endorsing electrical designs, drawings, and documentation prepared by junior engineers and designers.
Participating in the commissioning and testing of electrical systems to validate functionality and performance.
Staying abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in electrical engineering.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering preferred not essential.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical engineering.
Proficiency in electrical design software such as ETAP, SKM, or similar is advantageous.
Strong analytical abilities with meticulous attention to detail.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Capable of thriving both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
