Electrical Project Manager

​We are working with a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy providing technical and project management services within the energy and utilities sector. Their teams supports clients in the planning, design, and delivery of transmission and distribution (T&D) infrastructure, helping strengthen Finland’s power network and enable the transition to a more sustainable energy system.

Role Overview

As an Electrical Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating consultancy assignments and client projects in the transmission and distribution field. You will ensure that each project is executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest technical standards, from early design through to construction support and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver electrical transmission and distribution projects, ensuring they meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements.

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and act as the key contact between clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, risk registers, and progress reports.

  • Oversee design reviews, technical documentation, and compliance with Finnish and EU standards.

  • Support feasibility studies, tendering, and contract preparation.

  • Provide technical and project management expertise to ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Represent the consultancy at client meetings, workshops, and site visits.

Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of project management experience within transmission and distribution projects (such as substations, overhead lines, underground cables, or grid connections).

  • Language Skills: Fluency in both Finnish and English, both written and spoken.

  • Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of electrical systems, grid infrastructure, and relevant Finnish regulations.

  • Project Management: Proven ability to plan, budget, and manage multiple stakeholders and deliverables.

  • Other: Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Finland when required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience in a consultancy or client-facing engineering role.

  • Familiarity with Finnish grid operators and utility clients.

  • Knowledge of project management frameworks (PMI, PRINCE2) or equivalent certification.

  • Experience using project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
