​An internationally established engineering company with a long-standing presence in the energy sector is expanding its project delivery capability in Germany. The organisation has been active in the market for decades and delivers specialised services across high-voltage infrastructure.

In Germany, the company focuses exclusively on energy projects, including the refurbishment, extension, and new construction of high-voltage substations. Projects are delivered primarily for transmission system and grid operators. The German engineering team is based in the Frankfurt region and is continuing to grow in response to a strong and stable project pipeline.

To support ongoing and future projects, the company is seeking experienced HV Substation Project Managers to join its German operations.

The Role

The HV Substation Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of EPC and consultancy projects within the German transmission network. The role carries full technical, commercial, and schedule accountability for assigned projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Full lifecycle management of HV substation EPC projects

  • Responsibility for project quality, cost control, budget management, and timelines

  • Contract and stakeholder management with transmission and grid operators

  • Coordination of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities

  • Commercial oversight, including change management and profitability

  • Collaboration with international engineering teams

  • Regular reporting on project status, risks, and mitigation actions

Candidate Profile

Applicants should bring strong technical expertise in HV substations combined with proven EPC delivery experience.

Essential requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

  • Solid background in high-voltage substation engineering

  • Proven track record delivering at least 3–4 EPC HV substation projects with significant contract value

  • Experience managing project economics, schedules, and quality

  • Familiarity with the German transmission or grid operator environment

  • Fluent German (project and contract language) and good English

Desirable experience:

  • Background with a major OEM within the HV or power transmission sector

  • Internationally recognised Project Management certification

  • Experience across both EPC and consultancy project delivery models
