An exciting opportunity has opened for a Project Manager to join a fast-growing BESS developer, owner, and operator with a strong project pipeline of 1GW in late-stage development. Operating in Germany for several years, the company combines deep technical expertise with significant financial backing from a leading European financial institution and is partnered with one of Germany’s BESS specialists.
The team is tight-knit, motivated, and ambitious, offering a collaborative environment where you can take ownership of high-impact projects and help shape the future of energy storage.
The Role
As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the execution phase of BESS projects across Germany and Europe. You will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while coordinating technical, commercial, and regulatory aspects. Key responsibilities include:
Project Finalisation:
Conduct final checks before and after permits are issued, ensuring land rights, leases, and easements are in place
Coordinate and monitor compliance with permit conditions, including environmental requirements and official approvals
EPC & O&M Management:
Manage the selection, tendering, and contract negotiations with EPC contractors
Identify, negotiate, and oversee O&M providers to ensure operational readiness
Ensure technical, contractual, and commercial requirements are fully met
Commercial & Market Support:
Contribute to the commercial design of storage projects (merchant, tolling, capacity markets)
Develop business cases, forecasts, and revenue scenarios for operational assets
Team & Organisational Development:
Support the build-out and scaling of the execution team, defining processes, roles, and responsibilities
Collaborate with commercial teams to support long-term operations, reporting, and monetisation of assets
Manage internal and external stakeholders, working closely with leadership, project development, finance, and legal teams
Report regularly to management on project status, budget, risks, and milestones
Your Background
Proven experience managing utility-scale BESS, renewable energy, or infrastructure projects
Strong knowledge of project execution, EPC/O&M management, and grid integration
Commercially aware with experience in business cases, financial modelling, or revenue optimisation
Skilled at team leadership, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration
Fluent in German and English
