Job description

​Our client is an exciting IPP and Smart Solutions business with a prolific portfolio of renewables projects both locally and overseas. We're excited to be mandated with an exciting opportunity looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to lead bid and client management initiatives around the delivery of utility scale battery projects in Australia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a bid management strategy for utility battery storage projects in Australia, including identifying and pursuing new business opportunities

  • Manage the end-to-end bid process, including coordinating with internal teams and external partners, developing pricing strategies, and producing high-quality proposals

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and government bodies

  • Identify new potential clients and work to develop and implement strategies to convert them into successful partnerships

  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify and implement improvements to the sales and bidding process

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor activities, and use this knowledge to inform business development strategies

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering or a related field

  • At least 5 years of experience in business development, with a strong track record in bid management and client engagement in the utility battery storage projects market

  • Knowledge of the Australian utility battery storage market, including regulations, stakeholders, and key players

  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to develop strong relationships with clients, partners, and internal teams

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Highly motivated, with a results-driven mindset
