Job description
My client is offering a rare opportunity to work closely with the Business Development Manager and CEO in Houston to further develop the firm's rapidly expanding project pipeline.
The company is an Independent Power Producer that is a premier firm within the renewables space, leading the way in energy storage. It has more than 1 GW of capacity in operations and 10 GW in different stages of development in its portfolio. In addition, the company was purchased in 2021 by a large Korean conglomerate and the owner has committed to injecting a few billion dollars into the company over the next few years.
You will have the opportunity to be immersed in one of the fastest growing industries as a Business Development Analyst/Associate and make pitches to company stakeholders, ultimately winning the firm new business opportunities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop analytical reports and institute monthly tracking on the development of strategic initiatives, financial performance and the broader competitive energy market
Create and manage tools to monitor market activity and track internal origination strategy to identify new growth areas and M&A targets
Prepare detailed memos and presentations for senior management, investment committee, and the board of directors
Communicate company initiatives both internally and externally
Lead special projects across internal functional groups to drive value creation throughout development, procurement, construction and financing processes
Produce regular and ad-hoc research papers and reports on business development and market landscape
Efficiently prioritize and complete a multitude of complex projects often on short timelines
Other duties as required
WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree preferred in finance, business administration, economics, or engineering. CFA, Master’s, or other education a plus
Experience at a U.S. solar, wind, or energy storage development company or Independent Power Producer in a quantitative, transactional role such as project finance, M&A, or power marketing/PPA origination; OR relevant, transferable experience in investment banking or private equity; OR experience in management or strategic consulting
Aptitude for analytical and financial modeling with demonstrated attention to detail
Advance quantitative skills are a must
Advanced capabilities in Excel and PowerPoint are essential
Ability to summarize complex issues and identify opportunities or next steps
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage simultaneous projects/work streams, set priorities, and exercise independent judgment
