Business Development Manager

Job description

​The Business Development Manager is responsible for generating and managing revenue opportunities through strategic client development, project acquisition, and cross-divisional collaboration. The position ensures alignment between sales objectives and operational capabilities and supports the organization’s long-term growth strategy.

Functions

  • Develop and manage a defined sales territory and pipeline of qualified opportunities.

  • Conduct market research and maintain knowledge of industry trends, competitors, and regulatory developments.

  • Establish and maintain client relationships with general contractors, developers, municipalities, and other key stakeholders.

  • Identify opportunities for collaboration across company divisions and affiliated entities.

  • Coordinate with estimating and operations teams to ensure proposals, bids, and contracts meet client expectations and compliance standards.

  • Participate in bid reviews, proposal preparation, and post-award follow-up.

  • Track and report business development metrics, including pipeline activity and conversion performance.

  • Represent the company at meetings, industry events, and trade associations to support brand recognition and professional partnerships.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in business development, sales, or project management within the construction, civil infrastructure, or environmental services industries.

  • Demonstrated success in managing client accounts and securing new contracts.

  • Knowledge of erosion control, stormwater compliance, and SWPPP requirements.

  • Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical plans, specifications, and bid documents.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to travel within Colorado and surrounding regions as needed.
