Business Development Manager
Job description
The Business Development Manager is responsible for generating and managing revenue opportunities through strategic client development, project acquisition, and cross-divisional collaboration. The position ensures alignment between sales objectives and operational capabilities and supports the organization’s long-term growth strategy.
Functions
Develop and manage a defined sales territory and pipeline of qualified opportunities.
Conduct market research and maintain knowledge of industry trends, competitors, and regulatory developments.
Establish and maintain client relationships with general contractors, developers, municipalities, and other key stakeholders.
Identify opportunities for collaboration across company divisions and affiliated entities.
Coordinate with estimating and operations teams to ensure proposals, bids, and contracts meet client expectations and compliance standards.
Participate in bid reviews, proposal preparation, and post-award follow-up.
Track and report business development metrics, including pipeline activity and conversion performance.
Represent the company at meetings, industry events, and trade associations to support brand recognition and professional partnerships.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in business development, sales, or project management within the construction, civil infrastructure, or environmental services industries.
Demonstrated success in managing client accounts and securing new contracts.
Knowledge of erosion control, stormwater compliance, and SWPPP requirements.
Proficiency in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to read and interpret technical plans, specifications, and bid documents.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Ability to travel within Colorado and surrounding regions as needed.
