Since its founding in 2010, The Green Recruitment Company (TGRC) has focused on one clear mission: helping organisations find the people who will drive the global energy transition forward. From the early days of renewable energy growth through to today’s rapidly expanding clean technology landscape, the business has built a global reputation as a specialist recruitment partner operating across renewable energy, infrastructure, energy finance and emerging climate technologies.
Over the years, TGRC has grown alongside the market it serves. As investment into clean energy accelerated and new technologies emerged, the business expanded internationally — following clients, capital and talent into key global markets. Today our consultants operate across multiple regions, working with developers, investors, utilities, manufacturers and technology companies who are shaping the future of the global energy system.
One of the most exciting parts of that international platform is our New York office.
The United States continues to be one of the most dynamic markets in the global energy transition, with major investment flowing into renewable generation, grid infrastructure, energy storage and emerging climate technologies. For recruiters operating in the sector, it’s a market where momentum is constant and opportunities move quickly.
That energy is reflected in the culture of our New York team.
Importantly, New York has also become a destination for internal mobility within TGRC. Over the years we have supported and sponsored a number of colleagues from across our global offices to relocate and build their careers in the United States. For ambitious consultants within the business, the move offers the chance to combine TGRC’s international platform with the pace and opportunity of one of the world’s most exciting recruitment markets.
It’s a place where people can take ownership, grow quickly and build relationships across a rapidly evolving industry.

Ask the team what working in TGRC’s New York office feels like, and a few themes come up consistently: fast-paced, supportive and driven.
For our colleague Eden, that combination captures the rhythm of the office perfectly.
“A good day usually means the day flies by,” she explains. “You’re on calls, solving problems as they come up, moving roles forward, and having real conversations with candidates. You might be juggling a lot, but you leave feeling like you actually got something done.”
That pace is balanced by a strong team dynamic. While recruitment in New York is sometimes stereotyped as hyper-competitive, Eden says the reality inside the office is far more collaborative.
“Everyone here has each other’s backs. In a fast-moving market, that means sharing market intel, jumping in to help close a deal, or just taking five minutes to sanity check a situation. It’s competitive in a healthy way — we push each other to be better, not burn out.”
One of the things that stood out most to Eden after joining TGRC was how quickly consultants are trusted with responsibility.
“If you show initiative and put in the work, you’re given ownership early on. There’s no waiting around for permission to grow.”
And while New York’s reputation can sometimes feel intimidating to outsiders, Eden believes the qualities that lead to success are often misunderstood.
“People think it’s all about being aggressive or flashy. In reality, the people who succeed here are the ones who listen well, build real relationships, and stay consistent even when the market moves fast.”
As the energy transition continues to accelerate across the United States, TGRC’s New York office is continuing to grow.
