Job description

Join team of experts in helping businesses navigate the challenges of a complex energy market as a Trading Support Analyst. This independent B2B energy company will provide a fantastic career opportunity for an ambitious, flexible and passionate individual. You will need to analyse the energy markets whilst accurately organising all relevant data enabling the department to function seamlessly. You will be directly involved in liaising with third party intermediaries, industry bodies, the internal trading team, account managers and business clients regarding energy supply, trading confirmations, contracts and supporting services.

The Role:

  • Wholesale market analysis
  • Receive, organise, review and validate trade confirmations
  • Manage flexible client purchases and report hedge vs outturn for these clients
  • Evaluating and forecasting consumption data
  • Exposure forecast implementations
  • Assessing commercial risk on a portfolio and deal specific level
  • Creating and publishing market reports & industry insights
  • Mine, aggregate, analyse data and produce relevant reports
  • Input, review and update non-commodity price elements
  • Assisting in the training and development of internal staff
  • Ad-hoc tasks as required by management.
  •  

The Individual:

  • Have experience in the Electricity and/or Gas Industry
  • Have a understanding of commodity markets and cross commodity drivers
  • Have strong excel skills; knowledge of SQL server, Python and R desirable
  • Have excellent attention to detail
  • Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment and able to quickly respond to changing business needs and demands
  • Be able to prioritise and manage your own workload with minimal supervision
