Client

My client are an international IPP who develop own and operate solar projects around Europe. They are looking for a Solar PV Engineer to advise on the whole project life cycle.

Purpose of Role

  • ​Conduct the technical due diligence of PV solar projects and support Development and M&A teams for projects in different countries;

  • Obtain all technical information needed to prepare power plant design from various sources;

  • Design PV power plant based on best practice knowledge, electrical codes and standards in different countries;

  • Identify the key components of the PV power plants to achieve the best cost effectiveness and system reliabilities;

  • Select and size the system ensuring compliance to project specification;

  • Conduct energy yield simulation and other calculations;

  • Create the Bill of Materials, the Scope of Works and technical write-ups;

  • Create wiring diagrams and layout drawings;

  • Facilitate the efforts to solve all structural, electrical, and energy yield issues, including collaboration with external engineering firms and consultants;

  • To be ensure full compliance with quality and H&S systems;

  • Creating the technical specifications for procurement RFQs;

  • As needed, to manage relationships and work with Technical Advisors on project development or project acquisition;

  • Review of Detailed engineering

Qualifications / Skills Sought:

  • Must have an engineering degree and a minimum of 2+ years of engineering experience.

  • Demonstrated experience with MW scale projects from the PV solar sector. This refers to ground mounted (fixed and tilt) projects that are large in nature. Pure rooftop experience does not qualify.

  • Very good CAD drawing skills, preferably in AutoCAD (2D).

  • Versed in performing yield simulations with PVsyst, SolarGIS and other yield simulation tools.

  • Must be accurate, results-driven, self-motivated and eager to learn.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational skills, ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Fluent in English and preferably

  • Spanish, although not a must.
