​Structural Engineer

Location: Wimbledon, UK or Great Yarmouth, UK (Hybrid)

My client is a leading Renewable Engineering Consultancy firm, operating on behalf of funds, investment houses, owners and developers in the Offshore Wind sector. They are a fast growing, innovative and exciting renewable company to work for, that offer excellent opportunity for development.

I am seeking a hands-on experienced structural engineer who can collaborate effectively with clients and fellow team members to support project delivery works by providing high-quality structural technical input.

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be working closely with a passionate and ambitious team of design engineers to deliver innovative and optimized solutions. You will also be responsible for taking the deliverables through third-party certification, fabrication, and installation phases. We are looking for engineers with primary and secondary steel design experience within the offshore wind sector. It is expected that you will provide technical support to tenders as well as supporting the development of junior engineers in house.

Responsibilities:

• Primary steel design (monopile, jacket and/or GBS).

• Secondary steel design development.

• Interface with wind turbine manufacturer, where relevant.

• Interface with certification bodies.

• Design Review / Owner’s Engineer Role.

• In-House Design tool development.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of Offshore Wind engineering experience

• Mechanical/ Structural/ Civil Engineering degree

• Offshore wind turbine foundation design

It is advantageous to have the following:

• Monopiles for Offshore Wind.

• Primary Steel Structures eg Steel towers.

• Secondary Steel for Offshore Wind.

• T&I / Transportation & Installation for OWF.

• Geotechnical.

• Loads Analysis for offshore loading and dynamics of offshore wind turbine foundations.

• Owner’s Engineer, Package Management, Engineering Management or Contract Management experience.
