Job description
A growing renewable energy platform is looking for a Project Finance Associate to play a key role in advancing its portfolio of solar, battery storage, EV charging, and land development projects. This position is central to shaping the financial strategy, supporting both acquisitions and divestitures, and ensuring successful execution of transactions across multiple asset classes.
The Associate will be responsible for building and managing detailed financial models, performing transaction diligence, and supporting negotiations with investors and lenders. The role will also include valuation and pricing analysis for RFP responses in power purchase agreements (PPAs) and community solar opportunities. This is a hands-on position requiring a highly analytical and detail-focused individual who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
You will work directly with senior leadership and collaborate across development, engineering, legal, and capital markets teams, gaining exposure to the full project lifecycle - from early-stage development to operating assets.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, update, and refine project- and portfolio-level financial models aligned with capital structures, underwriting assumptions, and bid requirements.
Support the execution of M&A activities (buy- and sell-side), including valuation, modeling, diligence, and transaction management.
Conduct analysis and pricing strategy for PPA and community solar RFP submissions.
Partner with internal teams to validate inputs and assumptions for projects in development.
Draft investment materials and presentations for internal decision-making, investor discussions, and financing partners.
Assist with structuring and closing project financings, including negotiations and documentation.
Monitor financial performance of late-stage and operating projects, highlighting risks and recommending solutions.
Stay current on policy, market dynamics, and valuation trends impacting solar, storage, and clean energy investments.
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in renewable energy project finance, investment banking, M&A, or corporate development, preferably with direct exposure to solar and/or energy storage.
Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities, including project-level cash flow analysis, valuation methods, and scenario testing.
Knowledge of renewable energy financing structures, including tax equity (e.g., partnership flip).
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex financial insights into clear recommendations.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple high-priority projects under tight deadlines.
Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and strong ownership of deliverables.
Must be based in Miami.
