Job title: Senior Development Manager

Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia (Hybrid)

TGRC is currently looking for a Senior Development Manager to be based in either Melbourne or Brisbane.

Green Recruitment is partnering with an international renewable energy developer who has a global portfolio of onshore and offshore wind, solar, and energy storage projects with over 25GW in development worldwide and over 3GW in development in Australia.

As the Senior Development Manager, you will deliver a viable pipeline of renewable energy projects in Australia through to the construction stage. This includes leading development strategy, identifying greenfield opportunities, securing land tenure, managing site feasibility, community consultation, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop greenfield renewable energy opportunities and help lead Australian renewable development strategy and pipeline origination.

  • Develop plans for taking sites to through their feasibility studies by onboarding consultants/contractors for environmental surveys, and wind monitoring.

  • Negotiate and secure property agreements with landowners to develop, construct, and operate renewable energy projects.

  • Maintain effective communication with the project team and all external stakeholders and government agencies, including community engagement.

  • Prepare and present progress reports to senior management.

  • Supervise and coordinate Development Managers through the planning and environmental approvals process for Solar, Wind, and BESS projects to secure all third-party consents.

Your Profile:

  • Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Finance, or a related field.

  • 9+ years of development experience in the renewable energy sector.

  • Experience developing renewable energy projects within Australia.

  • Understanding of the development process including, site identification, constraints analysis, grid connection, and permitting process in Australia.

  • Knowledge of the key driver's influencers' site selection & viability of utility-scale renewable energy projects.

  • Knowledge of commercial and technical risk management and mitigation.

  • Excellent analytical & quantitative skills and organisation & planning.

  • Flexibility to travel interstate.
