Role - Senior Development Engineer

Location - Remote + up to 20% Travel

Salary - $150,000 - Plus competitive Bonus (Commensurate upon Experience)

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Development Engineer to join our dynamic team.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Development Engineer focused on Utility Scale Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and execution of renewable energy projects. Your expertise in software tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, HOMER, and HelioScope will be crucial in optimizing the performance and feasibility of utility-scale solar and energy storage installations. Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and technical evaluation of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects from concept to completion.

  • Conduct site assessments, resource modeling, and feasibility studies to identify suitable project sites.

  • Utilize AutoCAD, PVsyst, HOMER, and HelioScope to perform detailed system design, energy production analysis, and financial modeling.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project developers, engineers, and financiers, to ensure project viability and alignment with strategic goals.

  • Prepare and review technical specifications, engineering drawings, and equipment selection for solar and battery storage systems.

  • Evaluate project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and support the permitting and interconnection process.

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to utility-scale solar and energy storage.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

  • Engage with external stakeholders, including utilities, government agencies, and technology providers, to support project development efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the development and design of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects.

  • Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, HOMER, and HelioScope.

  • Strong understanding of solar photovoltaic (PV) system design principles, energy yield modeling, and performance optimization.

  • Knowledge of battery energy storage systems, grid integration, and energy management concepts.

  • Proven experience in conducting financial analysis, including cash flow modeling and project valuation.

  • Familiarity with utility interconnection processes, regulations, and grid integration requirements.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a results-oriented mindset.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results within strict timelines.

  • Passion for renewable energy and a commitment to sustainability.
