Senior Development Manager

Job description

The Green Recruitment Company is proud to be partnering with a leading renewable energy developer driving the clean energy transition across the United States. Our client has an extensive track record delivering utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage projects — and is now seeking a Senior Development Manager to take a leadership role in advancing their growing portfolio across multiple ISOs and RTOs.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organization at the forefront of America’s renewable buildout, where you’ll take projects from concept through to ready-to-build and play a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s clean energy future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle development of large-scale wind, solar, and energy storage projects — from site origination and permitting through commercial operation.

  • Develop and execute project strategies to achieve technical, financial, and scheduling goals.

  • Oversee all project development activities, including land acquisition, interconnection, environmental and permitting processes, stakeholder engagement, and technical design.

  • Drive commercial success, supporting offtake origination, power marketing, equipment procurement, and EPC contractor selection.

  • Evaluate and execute growth opportunities, including greenfield origination and acquisition of development-stage assets.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, finance, and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution and bankability.

  • Represent the company in regulatory proceedings, community meetings, and partnership negotiations.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven success leading utility-scale wind, solar, or storage projects through key development milestones.

  • Strong knowledge of US energy markets, ISOs/RTOs, and the renewable development landscape.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).

  • Minimum 4+ years of hands-on renewable energy project development experience.

  • Demonstrated strength in stakeholder management, negotiation, and commercial strategy.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and passion for accelerating the clean energy transition.
