QHSE Director China

Job description

Responsibilities

  • Fully responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing the QHSE strategy for all operations in China, ensuring alignment with international standards (ISO, OHSAS, API, etc.) and compliance with local Chinese regulations.

  • Leads the supplier quality strategy for the China region, ensuring quality assurance for new product introductions and managing supplier auditing, evaluation, and development programs to enhance overall supply chain performance.

  • Leads multicultural QHSE teams, drives a "Zero Incident" safety culture, and improves organization-wide safety awareness and execution.

  • Establishes and maintains a robust risk control framework, organizes incident investigations and root cause analysis, and manages crisis events and emergency response plans to ensure business continuity.

  • Monitors QHSE performance using data-driven approaches (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), promotes lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve quality, safety, and environmental objectives.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Quality Management, HSE, or a related field.

  • Professional qualifications such as ISO 9001/14001/45001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH International General Certificate, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, etc.

  • Minimum of 10 years of senior QHSE management experience, preferably within the wind energy or manufacturing supply chain sectors.

  • Proven track record of successfully managing multi-site operations and teams across China and the Asia-Pacific region.

  • In-depth experience with the full supplier quality management process, including APQP, PPAP, and FMEA.

  • Expert knowledge of international management systems (e.g., IATF 16949, AS9100, ISO 13485).

  • Proficient in root cause analysis tools (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, FTA).

  • Strong cross-cultural communication, team leadership, and crisis management skills.

  • Experience using QHSE management systems (e.g., Intelex, SAP EHS).

  • Native fluency in Mandarin Chinese.Business proficiency in English (written and spoken).Knowledge of Spanish or German is a plus.
