Engineering Director

A fast-growing energy infrastructure platform is looking to appoint an Engineering Director to lead complex, high-impact projects at grid and system level. This role sits at the heart of technical decision-making and offers real influence over strategy, standards, and long-term direction.

The Role

  • Own and shape the overall engineering and system strategy across large-scale energy and grid-connected projects

  • Act as the senior technical authority for electrical, network, and system-level topics across the full project lifecycle

  • Define, review, and approve technical concepts, system architectures, grid connection solutions, protection and operational models

  • Evaluate technical alternatives, deviations, and risks while ensuring regulatory and approval readiness

  • Represent engineering interests internally and externally with partners, authorities, and advisors

  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing engineering team and establish scalable structures and standards

Your Background
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline

  • Significant experience delivering grid connections in medium to high voltage environments

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, infrastructure projects, and complex technical interfaces

  • Proven ability to steer multidisciplinary projects from concept through execution

  • Experience in a senior technical leadership role (or clear readiness to step into one)

  • Structured, strategic thinker with strong communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Exposure to renewable energy, storage, or large-scale infrastructure projects is highly advantageous
