Job description

​I am retained by a household name utility who are currently looking for a Project Planner. They currently have a 7GW solar / BESS pipeline in the UK and are looking for a talented planner to join their solar team.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead planning process during development

  • Be the first point of contact with consultants and local stakeholders (e.g. local council)

  • Aid the Head of Development in formulating and executing the development and origination strategy

  • Manage risk effectively throughout the planning process, by taking mitigative actions, and making cost vs benefit recommendations to the Head of Development as required

  • Work closely with the rest of the team, especially the development manager and land and design experts to receive planning permission which is appropriate for the needs of the project

  • Manage consultants and surveys, collate all required information for planning submission, and prepare submission documents

  • Organise the PR response of projects and be the public face of the project during development

  • Create, receive approval for, and manage planning budget for each project

  • Evaluate origination opportunities from a planning perspective

Professional skills:

  • 5+ years’ of experience

  • Knowledge of the UK development process, key milestones, and risks

  • Experience with both local council permitting and NSIP projects will be considered a plus

  • Experience with Solar and/or Battery storage planning is a must. Wind experience will be a plus
