Job description
I am retained by a household name utility who are currently looking for a Project Planner. They currently have a 7GW solar / BESS pipeline in the UK and are looking for a talented planner to join their solar team.
Responsibilities:
Lead planning process during development
Be the first point of contact with consultants and local stakeholders (e.g. local council)
Aid the Head of Development in formulating and executing the development and origination strategy
Manage risk effectively throughout the planning process, by taking mitigative actions, and making cost vs benefit recommendations to the Head of Development as required
Work closely with the rest of the team, especially the development manager and land and design experts to receive planning permission which is appropriate for the needs of the project
Manage consultants and surveys, collate all required information for planning submission, and prepare submission documents
Organise the PR response of projects and be the public face of the project during development
Create, receive approval for, and manage planning budget for each project
Evaluate origination opportunities from a planning perspective
Professional skills:
5+ years’ of experience
Knowledge of the UK development process, key milestones, and risks
Experience with both local council permitting and NSIP projects will be considered a plus
Experience with Solar and/or Battery storage planning is a must. Wind experience will be a plus
