​I am currently supporting a large sustainability lead Investment Fund based in London looking for a Portfolio Manager with experience in managing renewable assets.

You will be responsible for overseeing the performance of a portfolio of projects and investments in operating businesses on behalf of investors and shareholders in funds managed by the client.

Job Role:

Oversee the performance of a portfolio of projects and/or investments in operating businesses on behalf of investors and shareholders in funds managed by the client. This will involve working closely with MSA suppliers, 3rd party Asset Managers also including the in-house Asset Management team, to ensure compliance and optimise performance of the portfolio.

Responsibilities:

• Representing the clients investor’s by taking portfolio management responsibility for selected investee companies. Attending project SPV board meetings to update on the performance of the projects, discuss issues and field questions. SPV board directorships may be required over time.

• Working with the relevant portfolio/finance team resources to assist producing SPV board documents and management accounts, through supplying relevant information.

• Overseeing the performance of selected investee companies throughout their operational lifecycle. Identifying, evaluating and proposing opportunities for performance improvements, both economically and operationally. Working closely with investee company management and project counterparties to drive performance.

• Assisting the rest of the Portfolio team in the wider portfolio management activities: reporting; portfolio company administration; portfolio optimisation; identifying and developing opportunities for synergies.

• Monitor asset performance to budget (financial and technical performance), liaising between asset managers and finance teams to ensure projects are delivering expected returns.

• Development and implement technical and commercial strategies for optimisation and enhancing the performance of the Portfolio of solar/wind assets

• Manage PPA strategy across Portfolio

• Work with Fund Managers on key initiatives across the portfolio

• Feedback operational experience to wider parts of the client to help improve the performance of the whole fleet.

• Oversee key contractual milestones and all commercial negotiations

• Liaison with all major Operators at a management level.

• Contribute and coordinate reports required by the various stakeholders across the portfolio

• Assume responsibility for developing and producing appropriate portfolio risk reporting including the development of the analysis of key counterparties and revenue streams

• Working with the Investor Relations teams continue to produce and enhance the quality of our investor reporting activities.

Qualities, skills and Experience required

Essential:

• 2 to 5 years professional experience, preferably in a technical and/or commercial role.

• Commercial experience of renewable energy projects, with exposure to wind/ solar projects in their operational phase, including engagement with contract counterparties, e.g. PPA providers, MSA and Operators

Qualities, skills and Experience required

Desirable:

• Experience in infrastructure investment management or asset management (could be from a corporate role, rather than a fund management role) would be beneficial.

• Previous experience as a board representative or reporting to an SPV would be beneficial.
