Client

My client are a leading UK renewable developer who are looking to expand the current land acquisition team.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Liaising with internal Grid and GIS (mapping) teams to assist the Land Managers in overseeing the flow of new grid opportunities from the point of inception through to legal exchange

  • Working alongside the company’s retained agents to assist the targeted search for land

  • Assisting with initial planning feasibility and financial analysis on sites in conjunction with the project teams where grid opportunities haves been identified

  • Reviewing land ownership and tenancy documentation

  • Arranging and undertaking site visits  

  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with landowners, agents, and consultants

  • Recording project data within the company’s GIS system

  • Maintaining comprehensive project documentation including keeping project tracker spreadsheets up to date in readiness for weekly and monthly updates to internal stakeholders

  • Assisting Land Managers with the negotiation on heads-of-terms for options to lease, options to purchase, easements, wayleaves and AHA surrender agreements

  • Liaising with the Company’s solicitors and external consultants on due diligence associated with the projects’ property transactions

  • Working with the project teams to understand and stay abreast of the various land, grid, planning and legal constraints

Qualifications / Skills Sought:

  • Passionate about renewable energy

  • The ability to multitask across multiple projects

  • Tenacity, the ability to problem solve and the desire to learn/ask questions

  • Strong relationship building skills

  • Strong analytic skills

  • Persuasive and deal driven

  • Educated to degree level (preferably in a property or related discipline)

  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience of working as a land agent or in a land acquisition-based role

  • Full clean drivers’ licence and a car
