Job description

Excellent opportunity to join a leading renewable energy investment planform who finance, develop and operate utility scale renewable energy projects globally.

Our client is looking to add an Associate to the New York team to assist with valuation, transaction structuring, M&A and project development. 

THE ROLE:

The main responsibilities for the role;

  • Analyse and prepare financial models for M&A and project development activity
  • Update and maintain the internal company model for valuation of projects
  • Work with partners and review external model to ensure proper investment criteria
  • Lead financial due diligence and data room investigation
  • Assist VP Development in greenfield development of solar projects including work on all phases of project development; land acquisition; interconnect agreements; PPAs; and, permitting
  • Manage construction contracts
  • Coordinate and oversee O&M contractors at projects and coordinate internal operations and technical teams to maximise project performance 
  • Manage REC contracting
  • Research renewable energy State and Federal incentives
  • Coordinate and follow up commercial reporting 

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  •  US Nationals / full US work visa applicants only
  • Bachelors of Arts or Engineering degree with demonstrated interest in business and energy
  • Minimum two years' experience in energy business development analysis, preferably in solar and/or wind assets project development (utility/large scale)
  • Minimum two years of project finance modelling in excel with direct experience modelling renewable energy projects and understanding of the main tax and accounting implications
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
