Job description

Job title: Interconnection Manager

Location: United States (Remote)

TGRC is looking for an Interconnection Manager, you will be part of the larger transmission & interconnection department and Development organization and will be responsible for managing all interconnection queue positions supporting projects under active development. This includes handling all communications with ISO/RTOs and utilities & developing a comprehensive interconnection strategy for every development project.

Responsibilities

  • Management and oversight of the interconnection team, including Interconnection Engineers

  • Support annual company goals and manage strategic interconnection initiatives including greenfield project siting in existing markets including PJM, MISO, TVA, Southern Company and other areas in the SERC region. This position will support similar functions in new market areas as well.

  • Leadership of interconnection applications and study evaluations for utility-scale solar and battery storage queue projects.

  • Oversee negotiation of final interconnection agreements.

  • Coordination with internal and external teams to create new steady state, dynamic and PSCAD models for development projects.

  • Provide technical support to the development organization and other areas of the company as necessary.

  • Represent and advocate our company's interests in technical stakeholder organizations of various ISO/RTOs.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering preferred.

  • Proven leadership and management capabilities.

  • Excellent verbal, written, technical and presentation skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the electric utility or renewable industry.

  • Understanding of power flow and other cost modeling tools including PSSE, TARA, PROMOD or PowerWorld.

  • Familiarity with major North American Transmission Service Provider OATTs and interconnection processes is preferred.

  • Understanding of wholesale power market pricing and dynamics is preferred.

  • Strong work ethic and exceptionally high work standards.
