Are you a skilled Grid Connection Specialist seeking an exciting opportunity with a leading Solar PV Developer? We are a reputable recruitment agency working on behalf of a prominent Solar PV Developer, and we are currently looking for a talented professional to join their team as a Freelance Grid Connection Specialist on a 9-month contract basis. This position is based in South Yorkshire.

Role Overview: As a Freelance Grid Connection Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful grid connection of solar photovoltaic projects. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of grid connection, including liaising with relevant stakeholders, overseeing technical assessments, and ensuring compliance with grid connection requirements. Your expertise will contribute to the efficient and timely delivery of solar PV projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to determine grid connection requirements for solar PV projects.

  • Liaise with grid operators, regulators, and other relevant stakeholders to secure grid connection agreements.

  • Ensure compliance with grid connection standards, regulations, and procedures.

  • Develop and implement grid connection strategies, considering technical, commercial, and regulatory aspects.

  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to optimize grid connection design and mitigate potential challenges.

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on grid connection-related matters.

  • Monitor and track progress of grid connection activities, ensuring timely delivery of milestones.

  • Identify and address grid connection risks and issues, implementing appropriate mitigation measures.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to grid connection.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.

  • Proven experience in grid connection management within the renewable energy sector, preferably in solar PV projects.

  • In-depth knowledge of grid connection requirements, regulations, and standards.

  • Familiarity with relevant stakeholders and processes involved in grid connection.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in English is required. Additional language skills are a plus.
