​Green Recruitment has partnered with a prominent Global Independent Power Producer (IPP) that is at the forefront of Australia's renewable energy revolution. This IPP is dedicated to developing, operating and owning renewable energy projects that have a lasting positive impact on our environment. They are in search of a passionate and experienced Renewable Energy Environment and Permitting Manager to join their team on the East Coast.

Position Summary:

Our client is looking to appoint a dynamic Renewable Energy Environment and Permitting Manager. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful development and operation of renewable energy projects in full compliance with environmental regulations and permits. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of the Australian regulatory landscape, environmental impact assessments, and adeptness in navigating intricate permitting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Environmental Compliance: Be the guardian of environmental compliance for all renewable energy projects, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal environmental regulations, encompassing environmental impact assessments, biodiversity and conservation requirements, and water management.

  2. Permitting: Lead the permitting process, expertly identifying the necessary permits, coordinating with government agencies, and driving timely approvals to keep projects on track.

  3. Stakeholder Engagement: Foster collaboration with an array of internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, environmental organizations, and local communities, establishing transparent and positive relationships throughout the project life cycle.

  4. Project Planning: Collaborate closely with project development teams to integrate environmental and permitting considerations into project planning and design.

  5. Compliance Monitoring: Devise and implement monitoring programs to guarantee continuous compliance with environmental permits and regulations.

  6. Risk Management: Identify and address potential environmental and permitting risks, offering guidance to effectively mitigate these risks.

  7. Reporting: Prepare comprehensive, regular reports for senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities, providing insightful updates on the environmental and permitting status of projects.

  8. Budget Management: Prudently oversee the budget for environmental and permitting activities, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising regulatory compliance.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's or higher degree in environmental science, environmental management, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in environmental and permitting roles within the renewable energy sector.

  • Profound knowledge of Australia's environmental regulations and permitting processes.

  • Robust project management and organizational skills.

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.

  • Proficiency in both independent and collaborative work settings.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and an ability to adapt to evolving regulatory landscapes.

  • Experience with renewable energy technologies is an added advantage.
