The Green Recruitment Company are pleased to be supporting our Client, a leading battery storage business, who uses their innovative technology to provide non-polluting solutions to UK transport systems.

They seek an Energy Trading Analyst to join their commercial analytics team and support ongoing analysis of projects to drive forward the business. The role will be providing in depth analysis across a range of datasets to inform their development pipeline of grid scale batteries and to support the day-to-day bidding and optimisation strategy of their current portfolio.

The ideal candidate will be analytical and driven, with excellent communication skills. They will be a proactive problem-solver, with an aptitude for learning and utilising new software. They will be organised and be able to submit bids & schedule assets in a timely manner.

Responsibilities include:

• In charge of the day-to-day optimisation and trading of the portfolio, using internal forecasting and dispatch tools

• Support the team to develop the optimal strategy across the various markets based on in-depth analytics using their internal models and market insight

• Track the development of new services available for our assets and manage the Route to Market

• Managing the access to market for Grid scale storage and EV fleet

Required skills:

• 1-2+ years’ experience in the Energy industry or Trading sector in an analytical role

• Previous experience with Python – would need to be able to fix minor bugs

• Understanding of the UK energy market

• Scientific/Engineering background
