Job description
We are seeking a Senior Energy Trading & Risk Manager to join the management team of a forward-thinking organisation in the public sector. This leadership role offers the opportunity to shape energy procurement and trading strategy at a national level, driving both strategic growth and operational and financial resilience.
You will lead high-performing energy trading teams, provide expert guidance on public sector procurement strategies, and manage credit and operational risk to ensure robust trading and procurement operations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop high-performing energy trading teams across multiple public sector projects
Define and implement energy procurement and trading strategies
Provide expert guidance on UK energy markets and trends
Manage credit risk, operational risk, and compliance across trading operations
Collaborate with the management team to support strategic growth initiatives
Drive process improvement and operational resilience within the energy trading function
Requirements / Must-Haves
Proven experience leading energy trading teams at a senior level
Strong knowledge of UK energy markets and public sector procurement
Expertise in credit risk, operational risk, and compliance management
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Experience working in a strategic, senior-level role within energy or public sector trading
