​SUMMARY:

TGRC is currently seeking a datacenter manager to join the Global Datacenter team for a global EPC we have partnered with. This team manages infrastructure technologies deployed globally. The primary role for this job is to manage the ISO 27001 certified datacenter collocated in Ashburn, Virginia.

At the outset, the bulk of time will be spent in the datacenter. As the datacenter becomes better organized, time will shift to the office and to telecommuting. When the datacenter work diminishes, this job will expand into other duties, enabling growth and skill development. Growth opportunities will begin with Microsoft Windows Server and progress into other technologies. Global team members support a variety of technologies, including servers, storage, VMware, cloud IAAS services and operating systems. The work extends to global datacenters, small offices, and remote jobsites. This position requires regular travel to our largest datacenter in Ashburn, Virginia.

Job Duties:

  • Coordination, planning and execution of all physical changes in the data center.

  • Datacenter work, including rack-and-stack, cabling, and inventory management.

  • Write and maintain standard operating procedures and standards.

  • Remote administration of Windows servers.

  • Open support tickets with vendors (e.g. Cisco, VMware, Netapp).

  • ServiceNow tickets assigned to the group.

  • Deploy and decommission servers via Ansible.

  • Server environment tasks, such as DNS changes, Active directory changes, etc.

  • Participation in an on-call rotation.

  • Work with the Datacenter Engineering group who gives guidance.

Required Skills

  • Attention to detail (work must be complete in a consistent and repeatable manner).

  • Skilled in use of data center hand tools and fasteners.

  • Datacenter knowledge (e.g. cable management, power management, rack planning, airflow).

  • Strong knowledge of server hardware. Cisco UCS is a plus.

  • Good working knowledge of network practices (e.g. IP subnets, DNS, DHCP).

  • Windows server administration.

  • Spoken communication skills well-suited for resolving problems with manufacturers.

  • ServiceNow familiarity is a plus.

  • U.S. National is a plus.

Basic Qualifications

1. Recognized Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology from an accredited college or university,

Practical work experience in datacenters, information technology or other relevant experience with specialized courses in infrastructure operations, servers, network, customer support, etc.

2. VMware, Storage, NetApp, Microsoft certifications in related technologies are a plus.

3. Prior management of a datacenter is ideal.

Experience and Skills

• 5+ years of experience in IT Operations, with knowledge of datacenters and IT Infrastructure operations

• Experience with operating systems: Windows Server, Linux (desirable)

Minimum Experience and Educational Requirements:

  • BS Electrical Engineering degree required; graduate degree preferred

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience with focus in electrical engineering, troubleshooting, testing power systems and control panels or switch gears

  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, PLCs, Autodesk Inventor for 2D/3D drawings/Models, SAP, Autodesk Vault, PLM Fusion 360 Manage, etc.

  • Able to create and review electrical schematic, single line diagram, field wiring diagram

  • Able to create and write components specifications and understand manufacturing datasheets.

  • Working knowledge of industrial control philosophies, and communication protocols

  • Willing to travel 20% of the time.
