THE OPPORTUNITY: 

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a conscientious and detail-oriented individual to join a fast-paced private equity firm as a Senior Finance Manager 

 

This is an excellent opportunity that will afford the successful applicant real responsibility overseeing the financial, accounting and administrative functions of the firm - with £80m in assets under management and a rapidly growing renewable fund. 

 

THE ROLE: 

 
Accounting: 
 
  • Engage in technical accounting dialogue with external audit team
  • Work closely with the Fund Administrator to prepare (monthly), quarterly, interim and annual reports, including work papers, investor reports, and financial footnotes  
  • Prepare capital drawdowns, distributions and management fee calculations and billing statements 
  • Prepare management accounts and asset bank reconciliations on a frequent
  • Manage monthly and quarterly VAT returns 
  • Work with the internal valuation team to ensure data is complete, as well as review asset valuations and performance metrics  
  • Work with tax compliance to ensure accurate Investor reporting. 
  • Supervise Fund Administrator in onboarding of new funds and clients
  • Review and present expenses, distributions and drawdowns of funds with audit committee 
  • Develop and uphold process to ensure timely and accurate accounting functions 
 
Financial: 
 
  • Manage internal cost and cashflow forecasting and reporting
  • Establish and manage purchase and sales ledger systems 
  • Maintain effective cash management policies including by providing timely cash collection as well as expense and billing cycle management
  • Provide fundraise support when required 
  • Process employee reimbursements and overhead purchases in line with company policy
  • Continuously identify weaknesses in financial systems and methods, implementing or recommending solutions 
  • Provide other support to ensure that the Company maintains fiscal responsibility 
 
Administrative: 
 
  • Manage company secretarial information (share certificate, members registrar and director registrars and any incorporation changes)
  • Support the risk manager in filing regulatory reports such as AIFMD 
  • Assist with fundraise, special projects and internal ad hoc requests 
  • Work with accountants and auditors to file companies house annual requirements
  • Make recommendations on improvements for file management systems
  • Support new employee on-boarding
  • Monthly payroll management in accordance with government PAYE/NIC requirements and timetables 

 

THE INDIVIDUAL: 

  • 8-10 years of related experience in public accounting and/or private equity fund administration
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (or other relevant discipline) and recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.)
  • Listed and/or FCA regulated company experience preferred
  • Investran knowledge
  • Strong organisational skills 
  • Strong accounting and admin technical skills (particularly MS excel, power point and dropbox)
  • Must be able to work without supervision
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively across multiple levels, functions and locations
  • Effectively work and communicate with members of the team to ensure established deadlines are being met in an efficient, accurate, thorough and neat manner
  • Adaptable and resourceful with a focus on problem solving
  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
