Job description

​Our client is a leading developer of community scale solar projects seeking a Vice President, Regulatory Affairs and Compliance to ensure their adherence to regulatory policies in various US states as they expand their operations. This pivotal position entails managing relationships with federal and state agencies overseeing solar policy and staying updated on new rules and regulations. Collaborating closely with our client's leadership and cross-functional teams, you will ensure comprehensive understanding and compliance with all policies, rules, and regulations in each market they serve.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic guidance on federal and state public policy and regulatory matters pertaining to the community solar industry.

  • Monitor, analyze, and implement federal and state regulations that impact community solar in states where our client operates.

  • Foster strong relationships with regulatory bodies in all their markets.

  • Collaborate with leaders across finance, sales, marketing, and technology teams to enhance processes and technologies while maintaining regulatory standards.

  • Serve as our client's Chief Compliance Officer, establishing and implementing standards and guidelines to ensure compliance with all regulations and laws.

  • Contribute to fostering a positive and enjoyable work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.

  • Master's degree, MBA, or Law degree is a plus but not required.

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in energy compliance, regulatory affairs, or risk management.

  • Expertise in energy policies and regulations.

  • Proven experience developing enterprise policies and managing organizational risk registers.

  • Direct experience in engaging with senior stakeholders from policy and regulatory bodies as well as corporations.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • A strong desire to work for a company with a high-impact mission focused on creating positive change in the world.

  • Passion for problem-solving and the ability to develop innovative solutions to enable quality and scalability.

  • Outstanding relationship-building skills with a knack for quickly establishing trust.
