Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Utility Scale Solar Project Engineer to join our team at a site equipped with Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). In this role, you will play a critical part in the development and execution of large-scale solar projects, leveraging cutting-edge BESS technology to enhance energy efficiency and grid reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Development:
Collaborate with the project development team to assess the feasibility of solar installations in coordination with BESS.
Contribute to site selection, permitting, and environmental impact assessments.
Design and Engineering:
Develop and review technical designs, specifications, and engineering drawings for utility-scale solar arrays and BESS systems.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
Procurement and Vendor Management:
Manage the procurement process, including sourcing of solar panels, inverters, battery storage systems, and related components.
Oversee vendor selection, negotiations, and contracts.
Construction and Installation:
Supervise the construction and installation of solar arrays and BESS, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
Testing and Commissioning:
Lead the commissioning process, including system testing and performance evaluation for both solar and BESS components.
Identify and address any operational issues or inefficiencies.
Operations and Maintenance:
Develop and implement maintenance plans for ongoing system operation, including routine inspections and troubleshooting.
Monitor system performance, optimizing energy production and BESS utilization.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure that all safety protocols and environmental regulations are strictly adhered to throughout the project's lifecycle.
Prepare and maintain documentation related to permits and compliance.
Project Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed project records, reports, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Provide regular updates on project progress and performance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
Proven experience in utility-scale solar project engineering and BESS integration
Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, energy storage technologies, and grid connection.
Proficiency in project management software and tools.
Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Professional engineering licensure or certification is preferred.
