Site Screening Manager - Solar PV

Our client, which originated as an intrapreneurship project and is now a subsidiary of global leading infrastructure company, has the mission of unlocking the solar potential of companies and properties.

They specialise in the development, financing, construction and operation of solar photovoltaic power plants on its client’s sites. They have developed an expertise in innovative power valuation mechanisms and has several projects in its portfolio developed through Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (on-site and off-site).

After securing 100MWp of projects in Sweden, They created an office in Stockholm in February 2023 with the objective of securing 500MWp of projects by 2025. The projects will be mainly utility-scale with a value in Off-Site Corporate PPA. Storage opportunities will also be explored.

In this context, they are looking to recruit a Site screening Manager to perform site selection, technical pre-studies and participate in the development of this new market.

Your Mission:

As a Site screening manager, you will be responsible for site identification and site technical assessment related to the early phase of a PV project:

  • Carry out site screening using GIS tools, layers, cartographic studies, databases and maps production to identify suitable sites

  • Conduct technical and environmental due diligences (grid connection, type and depth of soil, environmental restriction, …) to valuate identified lands

  • Perform site visit to confirm suitability and assess risks of the site

  • Perform technical pre-feasibility studies (preliminary design, preliminary grid connection solution, …) on selected lands

You will also have the opportunity to work of the development phase of the secured projects.

You will also work on internal processes to identify and assess lands:

  • Structuring the technical methods putting in place the best tools to find the most suitable lands to develop utility-scale PV plant

  • Find out about Swedish regulatory, administrative, environmental and technical rules in force to successfully perform site screening

You will work closely with the entire team and especially with the team already established in Stockholm. This is a real opportunity to play a key role in the international success of an intrapreneurship initiative.

Profile Required:

  • You have a 4/5-year engineering university degree and have a thorough knowledge of the renewable energy production market in Sweden or at least in the Nordics and the environment. Being graduated from a school of land surveyors, geologists or topographers, would be a plus.

  • You have 5+ year experience in technical assessment of large-scale renewable energy projects or telecom, power lines or other infrastructures. Experience with Lantmäteriet property files, GIS (ArqGIS, QGIS or other similar softwares), data layers and maps, would be a plus

  • You have skills in topology, geography, geology, geomatics and geoinformatics

  • You are familiar with geodata acquisition methods, methods for modeling, explorative data analysis, visualization and mapping

  • You have excellent oral and written communication skills
