About the Company: Our client is a leading Renewable Energy Developer with a strong commitment to sustainability and the environment. They specialize in utility-scale solar PV projects and are currently seeking a dedicated Site Safety Representative to join their team in Maine on a contractual basis.
Job Description: As a Site Safety Representative, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of all personnel working on utility-scale solar PV projects in Maine. Your primary responsibility will be to implement and enforce safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and promote a culture of safety excellence.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits at project sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to develop and maintain a comprehensive safety plan.
Provide safety training and orientation to all project personnel, ensuring they are aware of safety procedures and guidelines.
Investigate accidents and incidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Maintain and update safety records, incident reports, and safety-related documentation.
Stay current with state and federal safety regulations and industry best practices.
Act as a point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns from project personnel.
Promote a positive safety culture by actively engaging with on-site teams and fostering a sense of responsibility for safety.
Proven experience as a Site Safety Representative or similar role in construction or renewable energy projects.
Knowledge of utility-scale solar PV construction safety practices and regulations.
Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and industry-specific safety standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
Certification in safety-related fields (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour, First Aid/CPR) is a plus.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
