Job description
The Green Recruitment Company is working with an Environmental and Sustainability Business seeking a Senior Support and Installations Technician with cloud-based communication solutions background.
This is a remote (field-based) position offering career growth.
The role would require the technician to spend about 60% of time visiting client sites (remote from home) and require one day a week in-office, with standby duties.
With the current growth in the business, the opportunity would be great for someone willing and ready to take up a Senior role managing a small team in the near future.
The ideal candidate would be asenior support and installations technician with an aptitude for technology, extensive knowledge of VOIP along with experience in both fixed and mobile telecoms, wireless configuration and a knowledge of challenges faced by businesses in relation to telecoms and connectivity in this rapidly evolving industry.
Purpose of this role:
The Senior Support and Installations Technician will be responsible for technical support, configuration and installation maintenance of customer products and services towards a smooth transition from their previous service provider, as well as providing prompt and timely resolutions to service interruptions.
Requirements:
Qualifications required: SCQF Level 5 or 6 English and Maths, SCQF Level 5 Physics; ITIL Foundation
Experience and Technical Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a technical support installation technician role in the telecoms industry
Extensive knowledge of Hosted VOIP, Networking and WiFi
Experience of dealing with third party service providers
Experience using Ms Office and working on a CRM Systems
Drivers Licence, Personal vehicle use for business purposes
Desirable Experience:
Experience working with Gamma, 8x8, NFON products
Experience working with Draytek and Unifi managed hardware
Skills required:
Strong communication skills – a good telephone manner and the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a professional manner
Professional presentation with a flexible positive attitude
Good proactive problem-solving skills
Ability to understand the needs of our customers, keeping them in mind when taking actions or making decisions
Excellent attention to detail and strong numeric skills
Ability to grasp new concepts and terminology and learn new systems and services quickly
