We are looking for a Senior Originator in Nordics with a strong commercial drive and business purpose, who wants to join an ambitious and experienced deal-making team with a deep understanding of energy markets.
The Green Recruitment Company is partnered with a leading independent player in the Nordic energy market – specializing in trading and developing products and services for retailers, energy-intensive industries, and energy producers. This Nordic-based energy solutions provider is located in Oslo, Malmö, and Helsinki, and has a team of 40 employees with extensive experience in trading and origination in the Nordic region and Europe. The company has evolved to become one of the largest traders in the Nordic and Baltic markets.
Originate Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs): Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, negotiating PPAs for various renewable energy sources including hydropower, wind power, and solar power.
Market Analysis: Conduct an in-depth market analysis specific to the Nordic region to identify new business opportunities, assess potential risks, and stay abreast of market trends in the renewable energy sector.
Deal Structuring: Lead the structuring and negotiation of PPAs, ensuring favourable terms for all parties involved, and preferably, leveraging expertise in batteries or hydrogen flexibility management.
Financial Modelling: Develop financial models to evaluate project economics, analyse various PPA structures, and assess profitability.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, legal, and external advisors to facilitate the successful execution of PPAs.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards in the Nordic energy markets.
Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on market trends, deal pipelines, and progress to senior management.
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience (5+ years) in originating and negotiating PPAs, preferably within the Nordic renewable energy sector.
Strong financial modelling skills and understanding of project finance principles.
Previous expertise in power trading or flexibility management, with exposure to batteries or hydrogen.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
In-depth knowledge of Nordic energy markets and regulatory frameworks.
