Client

I am currently retained by a Private Equity firm based in the UK who are hiring into their greenfield renewable development team. The firm have over £4bn AUM and have had huge success globally. They are currently looking for a Senior Land Manager / Head of Land (depending on experience) to join their UK office and work across solar, wind, hydro, hydrogen etc.

Purpose of Role

  • Negotiate the acquisition of land for solar and energy storage projects

  • Liaise with landowners, land agents and other key stakeholders

  • Build and manage a network of trusted introducers and contacts

  • Work closely with our legal advisors to complete Option and Lease agreements

  • Negotiate and complete way leaves and other ancillary land agreements

  • Help unblock issues surrounding complex land agreements and negotiations

  • Help develop land-related strategy and business practices

  • Facilitate communication and land-related requests between internal teams

  • Liaise, appoint and review outputs of external consultants

  • Review key documents such as Reports on Title prior to completion

Qualifications / Skills Sought:

  • A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. surveying or land/estate management)

  • Extensive experience negotiating Heads of Terms, Options and Lease agreements

  • Solid understanding of commercial activities in relation to property and land law

  • Familiarity with the requirement funders have in relation to land agreements

  • Experience in renewable energy and large infrastructure projects

  • An excellent standard of verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure and with minimal supervision

  • Demonstrable project management experience
