Senior Human Resources Administrator

​Our client is a U.S.-based solar manufacturing company that has recently launched operations at its Indianapolis facility. The business is now moving through an early-stage growth and operational stabilization phase, with increasing organizational and workforce complexity.

The Role

This is the senior on-site HR and administration leadership role for the manufacturing plant, reporting directly to the Plant leadership team. The mandate is to build practical, fit-for-purpose people and admin infrastructure that supports production scale-up, rather than heavy corporate process.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing on-site leadership across HR and administration, setting standards and priorities rather than following the inherited process

  • Leading recruitment across hourly and salaried roles in a manufacturing environment

  • Owning employee relations and workforce discipline in a shift-based environment

  • Overseeing onboarding, training coordination, and workforce policies

  • Acting as the internal owner of HR operations while coordinating outsourced payroll, benefits, IT, and legal providers

  • Supporting visa and immigration coordination where required

  • Partnering with plant leadership on organizational structure, communication, and day-to-day people issues

Qualification:
  • Senior HR experience within manufacturing, industrial, or process-driven environments

  • Proven exposure to shift operations and frontline workforce management

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, build structure, and optimize people processes in growing operations

  • Experience managing external HR, payroll, or professional service vendors

  • Clear, confident communicator able to work with U.S.-based leadership and international technical stakeholders
