Job description
Key Responsibilities
Solicit, receive, and evaluate material bids from vendors and suppliers.
Analyze and qualify proposals to ensure alignment with project requirements.
Develop and author detailed scopes of supply for procurement packages.
Negotiate contract terms and conditions, including total contract value, delivery schedules, and other key provisions.
Manage the full lifecycle of material contracts from inception through closeout.
Assist in resolving discrepancies, non-conformance issues, and disputes with vendors.
Develop and execute strategic procurement initiatives to support project and company goals.
Additional Responsibilities
Uphold and demonstrate commitment to the company’s Core Principles and corporate culture.
Interpret owner contracts to identify and incorporate critical flow-down requirements into purchase orders.
Support the pre-construction team in identifying and vetting vendors to ensure compliance with internal standards and owner expectations.
Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
Create detailed schedules to be included within the scope of supply documents.
Generate and manage change orders and purchase orders throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure all vendors adhere to company Quality and Safety standards.
Lead the handover process of executed contracts to the project management team.
Occasional travel required for site visits, vendor evaluations, and other project-related activities.
Key Knowledge & Skills
Exceptional writing skills, including technical writing experience.
Solid understanding of construction project management workflows and procedures.
Strong knowledge of contract terminology and structure.
Effective negotiation skills with a proven ability to influence and drive favorable outcomes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities; able to develop creative, value-driven solutions.
Proactive, self-directed, and organized with the ability to take ownership of assigned tasks.
In-depth understanding of contract scopes and procurement documentation.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
Experience with Vista ERP system is a plus.
