Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Solicit, receive, and evaluate material bids from vendors and suppliers.

  • Analyze and qualify proposals to ensure alignment with project requirements.

  • Develop and author detailed scopes of supply for procurement packages.

  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions, including total contract value, delivery schedules, and other key provisions.

  • Manage the full lifecycle of material contracts from inception through closeout.

  • Assist in resolving discrepancies, non-conformance issues, and disputes with vendors.

  • Develop and execute strategic procurement initiatives to support project and company goals.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Uphold and demonstrate commitment to the company’s Core Principles and corporate culture.

  • Interpret owner contracts to identify and incorporate critical flow-down requirements into purchase orders.

  • Support the pre-construction team in identifying and vetting vendors to ensure compliance with internal standards and owner expectations.

  • Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key vendors and suppliers.

  • Create detailed schedules to be included within the scope of supply documents.

  • Generate and manage change orders and purchase orders throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Ensure all vendors adhere to company Quality and Safety standards.

  • Lead the handover process of executed contracts to the project management team.

  • Occasional travel required for site visits, vendor evaluations, and other project-related activities.

Key Knowledge & Skills
  • Exceptional writing skills, including technical writing experience.

  • Solid understanding of construction project management workflows and procedures.

  • Strong knowledge of contract terminology and structure.

  • Effective negotiation skills with a proven ability to influence and drive favorable outcomes.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities; able to develop creative, value-driven solutions.

  • Proactive, self-directed, and organized with the ability to take ownership of assigned tasks.

  • In-depth understanding of contract scopes and procurement documentation.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.

  • Experience with Vista ERP system is a plus.
