Junior Buyer

Job description

​Are you a commercially minded professional with a background in sales, account management, or customer-facing roles who’s looking to move into procurement? This is an opportunity to pivot your negotiation, relationship-building, and pricing skills into a Junior Buyer role within a fast-growing, sustainability-driven solar EPC business. Working closely with the Head of UK Procurement, you’ll play a key role in supplier engagement, cost control, and supporting project delivery across major UK solar projects.

Your Role

  • Source and evaluate suppliers for materials, components, services, and site consumables.

  • Request and compare quotations to support negotiation and purchasing decisions.

  • Raise purchase orders with accurate pricing, terms, and specifications.

  • Monitor order status and delivery schedules, following up to avoid site delays.

  • Maintain up-to-date procurement data and reporting in AP+, eGecko, and PowerBI.

  • Support commercial and project teams with material forecasting.

  • Help resolve delivery issues, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies.

  • Keep supplier records and compliance documentation current.

  • Assist the Head of Procurement and Finance Director with pricing standardisation and cost-saving initiatives.

  • Ensure all procurement activities meet company processes and sustainability requirements.

About You

You come from a sales or commercial background and enjoy negotiating, managing relationships, and working with numbers. You’re detail-focused, proactive, and ready to build a career in procurement.
