Junior Buyer

Job description

​An organisation in the UK renewable energy sector is seeking a Junior Buyer to support procurement activity across large-scale solar projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded individual — particularly someone with a sales or commercial background — looking to develop a career in procurement.

The role

Working closely with the Head of UK Procurement, you’ll support sourcing, purchasing and coordinating the delivery of materials and services from UK-based suppliers. You’ll help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with company and sustainability standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Support supplier sourcing for construction materials, electrical components, plant hire and site services

  • Request, analyse and compare supplier quotations

  • Raise purchase orders and track deliveries to site

  • Maintain accurate procurement and supplier data across internal systems

  • Support project teams with material forecasting and cost control

  • Assist with resolving supplier, delivery and invoice issues

  • Contribute to pricing standardisation and cost-saving initiatives
