Junior Buyer
Job description
An organisation in the UK renewable energy sector is seeking a Junior Buyer to support procurement activity across large-scale solar projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded individual — particularly someone with a sales or commercial background — looking to develop a career in procurement.
The role
Working closely with the Head of UK Procurement, you’ll support sourcing, purchasing and coordinating the delivery of materials and services from UK-based suppliers. You’ll help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with company and sustainability standards.
Key responsibilities
Support supplier sourcing for construction materials, electrical components, plant hire and site services
Request, analyse and compare supplier quotations
Raise purchase orders and track deliveries to site
Maintain accurate procurement and supplier data across internal systems
Support project teams with material forecasting and cost control
Assist with resolving supplier, delivery and invoice issues
Contribute to pricing standardisation and cost-saving initiatives
