Job description
TGRC is excited to have partnered with a couple of private equity firms in search of a Senior Board Advisor to advise on project development, construction, engineering and operations of their renewables portfolio in Malaysia.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert technical advice and guidance to the board of directors on engineering and construction matters related to energy projects, grid infrastructure, and renewable energy technologies.
Evaluate engineering designs, construction plans, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
Collaborate with board members and senior executives to develop and implement engineering strategies that support the organization's growth objectives and sustainability goals.
Provide recommendations on grid infrastructure investments, technology adoption, and regulatory reforms to support the transition to a sustainable energy future.
Serve as a technical liaison between the board, senior management, engineering teams, regulatory authorities, and industry stakeholders.
Engage with external partners, including government agencies, utilities, contractors, and technology vendors, to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.
Expectations:
Proven track record of serving as a senior engineering leader, construction expert, or technical advisor in the energy sector, with a focus on engineering design, construction management, and grid systems.
Extensive experience in engineering design, construction planning, and project management, with a strong understanding of technical, regulatory, and market dynamics in the energy industry.
Deep expertise in grid systems, transmission, distribution, smart grid technologies, and renewable energy integration, with a focus on optimizing grid performance and reliability.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and recommendations to diverse audiences.
Advanced degree in engineering, construction management, or related field required. Professional engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.
Demonstrated leadership qualities, strategic thinking, and ability to influence decision-making at the board and executive level.
Passion for sustainability, clean energy, and environmental stewardship, with a commitment to driving positive impact through engineering innovation and leadership.
