Job description

​TGRC is excited to have partnered with a couple of private equity firms in search of a Senior Board Advisor to advise on project development, construction, engineering and operations of their renewables portfolio in Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert technical advice and guidance to the board of directors on engineering and construction matters related to energy projects, grid infrastructure, and renewable energy technologies.

  • Evaluate engineering designs, construction plans, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.

  • Collaborate with board members and senior executives to develop and implement engineering strategies that support the organization's growth objectives and sustainability goals.

  • Provide recommendations on grid infrastructure investments, technology adoption, and regulatory reforms to support the transition to a sustainable energy future.

  • Serve as a technical liaison between the board, senior management, engineering teams, regulatory authorities, and industry stakeholders.

  • Engage with external partners, including government agencies, utilities, contractors, and technology vendors, to foster collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Expectations:

  • Proven track record of serving as a senior engineering leader, construction expert, or technical advisor in the energy sector, with a focus on engineering design, construction management, and grid systems.

  • Extensive experience in engineering design, construction planning, and project management, with a strong understanding of technical, regulatory, and market dynamics in the energy industry.

  • Deep expertise in grid systems, transmission, distribution, smart grid technologies, and renewable energy integration, with a focus on optimizing grid performance and reliability.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and recommendations to diverse audiences.

  • Advanced degree in engineering, construction management, or related field required. Professional engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.

  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, strategic thinking, and ability to influence decision-making at the board and executive level.

  • Passion for sustainability, clean energy, and environmental stewardship, with a commitment to driving positive impact through engineering innovation and leadership.
