Job description
TGRC is excited to have partnered with a couple of Tier 1 private equity clients, in search of a Senior Board Advisor who is a technical expert, to advise on project development, construction and operations of their renewables portfolio in Korea.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert technical advice and guidance to the board of directors on engineering matters related to energy projects, grid infrastructure, and renewable energy technologies.
Assess the feasibility, viability, and technical risks of energy projects, including solar, wind, hydro, and other renewable energy initiatives.
Collaborate with board members and senior executives to develop and implement engineering strategies that support the organization's growth objectives and sustainability goals.
Provide strategic advice and recommendations to senior management and board members on renewable energy investment opportunities, market dynamics, and industry trends.
Present investment proposals and business cases to the board, highlighting key risks, opportunities, and strategic considerations.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop investment strategies, investment mandates, and portfolio management frameworks.
Represent Korea in industry forums, technical committees, and stakeholder engagements to promote the organization's interests and thought leadership in engineering and grid systems.
Expectations:
Proven track record of serving as a senior engineering leader, technical advisor, or subject matter expert in the energy sector, with a focus on grid systems, infrastructure development, and renewable energy projects.
Extensive experience in engineering design, grid planning, and project management, with a strong understanding of technical, regulatory, and market dynamics in the energy industry.
Deep expertise in grid systems, transmission, distribution, smart grid technologies, and renewable energy integration, with a focus on optimizing grid performance and reliability.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and recommendations to diverse audiences.
Advanced degree in engineering, electrical engineering, or related field required. Professional engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification preferred.
Demonstrated leadership qualities, strategic thinking, and ability to influence decision-making at the board and executive level.
Passion for sustainability, clean energy, and environmental stewardship, with a commitment to driving positive impact through engineering innovation and leadership.
