Job Title: Senior Analyst of Quantitative Development

Location: United States (Remote)

The Senior Analyst of Quantitative Development will support the development and implementation of high-quality software solutions and quantitative models to support the commercial optimization of the firm's growing fleet of battery energy storage projects.

The Senior Analyst will report to the Director of Quantitative Development and will be responsible for supporting the development of outstanding UI to warehouse, measure, and visualize all commercial metrics of the business and augment superior risk management of the portfolio.

Company Overview:

Our client, a leading battery storage developer, owner and operator (IPP) is growing their Commercial Operations team. The firm is impressive and owned by a well-known PE infrastructure investor. Their operational portfolio of projects stands at 2GW with around 15GW in various stages of development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement well-engineered software solutions necessary to support all commercial functions of the business and optimize risk-adjusted returns for the entire portfolio.

  • Execute exceptional data infrastructure strategies that facilitate effective management of large and ever-expanding datasets.

  • Contribute to data science solutions that drive proprietary insights, deliver alpha, and support best-in-class commercial optimization strategies.

  • Coordinate integration of artificial intelligence into tools, systems, and processes.

  • Build and manage elegant and dynamic data visualization tools designed to support commercial activities and report commercial results to a diverse audience of stakeholders.

  • Coordinate with team members to develop coding solutions that underly proprietary forward valuations of hourly energy and ancillary services across all North American energy markets.

  • Implement elegant programming solutions that corroborate the statistical accuracy of the quantitative modeling underlying the valuations of all assets and commercial transactions.

  • Assist in the management of code-based battery optimization models for the Company’s assets and compare results to competitors and various third-party battery optimization software providers.

  • Build, manage, and maintain the internal systems and iterative processes that collect, organize, and visualize all relevant market data required for robust quantamental analysis of the North American energy markets.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Programming, or other related fields.

  • Two (2) or more years of experience with at least two of the following languages: Java, Python, Scala, C++, Javascript, and Go.

  • Knowledge of SQL, Spark, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, Unix environments, serialization and compression methods.

  • Experience working with large datasets for both batch and real-time processing.

  • Ability to organize, process and extract meaningful insights from large, complex datasets and distil information and takeaways to less technical stakeholders.

  • Strong quantitative and development skills with a desire to augment skillsets and productivity via AI integration.

  • Experience with Git, cloud environments and security best practices.

  • Proficiency in writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code with a strong emphasis on best practices and code quality.

  • Deep interest in trading, data science, machine learning, optimization and energy markets. Battery energy storage experience is a plus.

  • Ability to maintain a safety-conscious work environment by following established safety protocols and safe work practices.

  • Demonstrate the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.
