Job description

​TGRC has partnered with a leading renewable energy company in the UK, specializing in wind power, battery storage technology, and solar PV. They are involved in the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects, from development and construction to operation and maintenance of wind farms and other renewable technologies.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to be instrumental in achieving our project objectives. In this role as an Electrical Development Engineer, you will be responsible for developing electrical concepts and leading front-end engineering design, guiding projects from the initial concept phase to executable work packages. You will contribute to a varied portfolio, including solar, energy storage, and private wire projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Focus on optimization and efficiency to advance the delivery of a sustainable renewable future.

  • Integrate engineering excellence, operational experience, and best practices into all engineering activities.

  • Evaluate risk and lifetime costs in every engineering initiative.

  • Support the development team in creating new sites, including Battery Energy Storage, Solar, Private Wire, and Hybrid projects, and potentially other technologies such as wind or hydrogen.

  • Play a crucial role in the development team by leading electrical optioneering to ensure that feasible electrical engineering solutions are developed and progressed to delivery.

  • Foster successful relationships with external partners, peers, stakeholders, and reporting lines to enhance collaboration and project success.

  • Leverage your expertise in electrical engineering, optioneering, project delivery, and cable routing to drive success in this dynamic and exciting field.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a successful senior electrical engineer in developing or delivering projects or programs.

  • Ability to establish and manage relationships, maintain a safe environment, manage priorities, and inspire and influence behaviors and actions.

  • Minimum of an electrical engineering degree. Chartered membership of an appropriate engineering body would be an advantage.

  • NEBOSH or IOSH (or equivalent) certification is desirable.

  • Highly proficient in Electrical Engineering, especially MV/HV within generation environments. Ability to review create/electrical designs, schematics and specifications.

  • Good command of Microsoft Office package (MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, etc.).
